Once again, I've fled the scene of all-things-blogging for an ungodly amount of time, setting a new record of 15 long weeks in a row. Why? Excellent question, but pointless content, so we'll just jump right back into the swing of things. Here's everything you missed (one update per week spent in hibernation):
1. City Year Round 2! I'm now serving as a Team Leader at a lovely high school here in Miami. I spend every single 10-12 hour day surrounded by 7 of the most massive personalities I've ever encountered - soon to be the main characters of my posts. I already know they'll love the attention.

2. I'm the Maid of Honor in my childhood best friend's wedding, therefore made it home for the first time in over 8 months! It was incredibly interesting to watch an all out-of-state bridal party pull off a Bridal Shower and Bachelorette Party all in one day, but I've learned to never doubt the do-ability of overambitious Millennial plans.
3. My pledge baby, Michelle, is finally Chinstafamous. I've always loved the novelty of her approach and apparently so does the entertainment sector of the internet. Read the article about this chin-teresting project of hers and follow her at @chinventures for a good time.
4. I was blessed with a surprise plane ticket to Boston just in time to see two of my favorites follow in the royal footsteps of their predecessors. The extrovert in me was ecstatic to reconnect with dozens of the best people on this earth, all within a 48 hour span.
4. In every chapter of my adult life, I've come across people that change my life in radically simple but impactful ways. If you've been a long-term reader of my blog, you'll remember my friend Claire from way way back in my Colombia days. Our friendship formed what seemed like by accident, but the universe would definitely claim to have orchestrated it with intent. I've officially found my City Year Claire. She's a reflective, caring, creative, intuitive, progress-oriented and passionate Kentucky native. She's opened her life, her mind, her home, and the passenger seat of her navy blue Scion to me. I couldn't be more grateful.
5. When the threat of Hurricane Irma hit Miami, that new friend of mine made a generous offer - a 14 hour road trip to Kentucky, AKA safety. I accepted. We drove through the bumper-to-bumper streets of Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, eventually arriving 29 hours later in the quaint little town of Bowling Green, Kentucky. A weekend getaway (more like runaway) turned into a two week trip in which I immersed myself in Kentucky culture. I practiced my Southern accent day in and day out, watched every last sunset possible, ate Zaxby's, drove golf carts, and even spent some quality time in a tent full of 12,500 live chickens.
6. HOMESTEAD
The 20+ hour trips to and from Kentucky made the hour long hustle to Homestead seem like nothing. We began making routine weekend trips to Homestead to visit some of our fellow team leaders. We quickly built up some squad traditions consisting of Cracker Barrel, petting zoos, Mario Chase, and Ben & Jerry's Pint Slices.

7. I finally discovered why self-improvement is so hard for me (lots of info to come), but it's been liberating to have an answer. As a result, I've started:
8. Caring about how much water I drink, officially joining the Hydro Flask Community,
8. Caring about how much water I drink, officially joining the Hydro Flask Community,
9. Using my hour-long commute to and from school wisely,
10. Spending my free time being expressive as opposed to impulsive,
11. Reminding myself how much I love being outside,
12. Trying things I've always wanted to try (ex. calligraphy)
13. Getting the neighborhood kids excited about self-improvement as well, meeting at the pool a few nights a week for homework help and laps around the track,
14. Considering the move from one Miami to the next,
15. And finally, blogging.
Stay tuned for next week when things go back to normal. I promise to entertain & enlighten. In the meantime, create a great day (or 7 of them until I see you next.)
